Solar control at the building face

Overview
Exterior guided roller system with zip-track lateral channels. Specified for glazed facades exposed to direct solar radiation, where an interior screen cannot intercept the load at the source.
Interior fabric handles the view. The facade handles the heat. MERIDIAN is the specification answer when the solar load on a glazed elevation exceeds what an interior screen can manage — direct solar radiation reaches the glass before any interior fabric can act on it. A zip-track guide running the full height of both sides holds the fabric flat across wide spans, prevents perimeter infiltration, and stabilizes the system against wind. At the specified openness factor, MERIDIAN reduces solar gain and glare where the effect is most efficient: at the exterior face of the building envelope.
Control is manual with an embrague clutch, or motorized. Motorized operation is recommended for exterior systems and integrates with the SYNC control layer, enabling solar-position tracking and sensor-driven response to wind and rain conditions.

Applications
Glazed commercial facades · office towers · hospitality terraces and covered atriums · institutional buildings with direct solar exposure on primary elevations.
